The Music



All gathered in Jerusalem to play the music of Morocco
Morocco which remembers Spain, which in turn - yearns for Jerusalem.

"Gazelle"

Kol Oud Tof Trio first program "Gazelle" brings together four different traditions belonging to Moroccan Jewish musical traditions and repertoires - Spanish women’s songs from Northern Morocco sung in their original language, songs in the Jewish Moroccan Arabic dialect, Moroccan Jewish liturgical music and classical Andalusian songs sung in Hebrew.

"De veinticinco escalones"

This second program by the Kol Oud Tof Trio is dedicated to the Haketia* tradition; it is a personal personal reflection of wedding songs, mostly presented from the view of the bride and other women.
With the Haketia materials are wedding songs from Morocco and the Balkan sang in Hebrew, Arabic and Ladino.

* Haketia - a dialect spoken by the Jews of Tanger & Tetuan, it is described as "A mixture of Castillian, Arabic and Hebrew".
